Ludwig van Beethoven
The great classical composer Beethoven left only a few original works for harmoniemusik, i.a. the Octet op. 103, the Sextet op. 81b and the Rondino without opus number.
As his works were very popular (already during his life-time), many of them have been arranged for other combinations of instruments. Harmonie arrangements of his Septet op. 20 (by Georg Druschetzky), his opera Fidelio (by Wenzel Sedlak), his Seventh Symphony (by a not-identified arranger) and other works are available.
This brilliant wind version of the Sonate Pathétique op. 14 was published by the Chemische Druckerei in Vienna in 1810. The arranger remains anonymous.
